Fantasy Football Injury Updates: Miles Sanders, Dalvin Cook, Julian Edelman, Will Fuller impact NFL Playoffs DFS - Sporting News

NFL Playoffs DFS or playoff fantasy football leagues for Wild Card Weekend will be heavily impacted by a handful of injuries. Miles Sanders and Will Fuller V both could be in serious doubt to suit up for their teams, while Dalvin Cook and Julian Edelman should play but could be competing at less than 100 percent. We've got the latest injury updates below for those four players before the postseason gets underway.

DFS Lineups: DK Weekend | FD Saturday | FD Sunday | Y! Weekend

Miles Sanders injury update

Sanders left Week 17 with an ankle injury that he initially played through before leaving the game for good. Sanders will have an MRI Monday after X-rays came back negative, according to Tom Pelissero. Sanders' status for Sunday is "TBD," Pelissero added.

Sanders' absence Sunday meant a heavy dose of Boston Scott despite Jordan Howard being back active. Scott should be a popular DFS play against the Seahawks if Sanders sits, but if Sanders plays, there's a lot of uncertainty in the Philadelphia backfield.

Is Dalvin Cook playing in the playoffs?

Reports all along have expected Cook to be back from his shoulder injury to suit up in the Wild Card round for the Vikings. Minnesota had nothing to play for in Week 17, so after Cook was a limited participant in practice during the week, he was held out.

Cook should get his full allotment of carries Sunday against the Saints, as he's the best hope Minnesota has of staying in the game. Assuming Cook is active, he's a solid DFS play and makes any combination of Alexander Mattison, Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah impossible to use even as a punt play.

Julian Edelman injury news

Edelman has played through knee and shoulder injuries for each of the past three weeks, never being held out but consistently being less productive than usual. He hasn't scored in the last three games and has averaged just 35.7 receiving yards per contest. There's basically no chance Edelman misses Saturday's game against the Titans, but he could again be limited.

DFS lineups may be best off avoiding Edelman this weekend and taking a stab with the cheaper priced N'Keal Harry, who often finds the field when Edelman sits. Tom Brady is also a less appealing play with his top option not at full strength.

Will Fuller V injury status

Fuller (groin) missed Week 17 after getting injured in Week 16. It's been called a three-week injury by Ian Rapoport, who also reported there's an "outside chance" that Fuller is ready to play against Buffalo on Saturday.

It's hard to base anything off of Sunday's game as Houston rested players. Expect Kenny Stills to step in as the Texans' No. 2 WR with Fuller out as he has before this season. With DeAndre Hopkins matched up against Tre'Davious White, there's some stacking potential using Stills with Deshaun Watson as a contrarian stack to Hopkins.
