CARSON, Calif. — Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was knocked out of the game in the third quarter Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers with a shoulder injury.

Cook was injured when he was tackled for a 3-yard loss by the Chargers’ Denzel Perryman at Dignity Heath Sports Park. Cook looked to be a good deal of pain after he went down but did end up watching the rest of the game from the sideline.

It was the second time in three games Cook left a game in the third quarter because of what was called a shoulder injury. He left a 37-30 loss at Seattle on Dec. 2.

That injury  later was called a chest injury. He returned to play the following week against Detroit.

Cook finished the day with 27 yards rushing rushing on nine carries. He entered Sunday’s game fourth in the NFL in rushing with 1,108 yards.
